Jimmy Kimmel, host of the Oscars for the fourth time, hinted that his days on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” may be numbered. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kimmel admitted, “I think this is my final contract.” He’s reflective as the show marks its 21st year, seeing the remaining two-plus years on his contract as satisfactory.
“It might not be anything that anyone other than me is aware of,” Kimmel said about his post-show plans. He’s considering pursuits like cooking, drawing, and sculpture. Kimmel acknowledged the skepticism about his statement, saying, “I hate to even mention it because everyone’s laughing at me now — each time I think that, and then it turns out to not be the case.” But he sees the two years left on his contract as “pretty good,” implying they might be enough for him.
